url.jpgwhat i love about Nordin Serbians work is just the lovely ways that he utilizes the focal length of his camera and the unique ways that he utilizes the foreground and backgrounds in his images. i would really love to be able to start utilizing the same techniques in my own work.

the thing that i love about jacky parkers work is that it is so surreal feeling, the back ground is so blurry. almost to the point that it is its own color separate from everything else and i think that is so different and so cool.

a subject that i really have been diving into is plants and things that are just nature based in general, its always awesome to be able to see different peoples styles when it comes to macro photography and i really like looking at Danny Perez's work a lot

i also love the idea of photographing insect at a very detailed distance, i really love looking at the detail and things that we never se like in Thomas shamans work..url.jpg

sussman
these photos by Rachel Sussman are very interesting to me not only because they are just beautiful images but also because they are all images in a collection of others that are predominantly of really old things. Old organisms that last years and years, much longer than any of us will ever live. this picture is of some sort of organism that is over 2000 years old and i think thats crazy.

these paintings are something that are very interesting to me, these beautiful paintings made by John Sawbraw are made of something that isn't anywhere near as beautiful as what it creates. these paintings are made from toxic runoff found in the Ohio River region, Sawbraw who is an artist and a professor produces his own DIY pigments.

this is a video of a labyrinth that was created by the are collective luzzinterruptus. this group has a history of tackling and bringing attention to many social issues in Europe. in this case its bringing attention to the plastic waste issues they are prominent in their region. i though that the idea of making something out of what everyone else throws away was a really cool idea.

Olafur Eliasson is an artist that i recently discovered who makes some really interesting sculptures. he is an environmentalist so a lot of his work has to do with popular environmental issues. this picture is one of a sculpture he did that was in a refrigerated gallery powered by solar panels in New York and these are pieces of ice that broke off from Iceland’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull

Hans Overduin is a nature photographer who from what i have seen really focuses on birds. these pictures of owls really intrigued me just because these animals are so beautiful. the way that he manages to get these crystal clear images out in the field amazes me. he seems to use a short focal length really taking the detail away from the background and emphasizing the foreground and the birds that he photographs. his use of the natural colors present in the scenes is very balanced things arent over saturated but they remain very vivid and beautiful throughout.

Jannick Clausen is another person that i have recently discovered, his work is again very different than a lot of work that i see. i love the way that some of his pictures almost look black and white in composition but have subtle hints of vibrant and beautiful color that ties everything in the photo together wonderfully. he frames his photos very narrowly at times and it makes your eyes wander in a very strange path sometimes, looking at things very carefully that most often times you would glance at and not think twice about.

Daniel Namadari is another landscape artist that i have recently discovered, his work makes me want to try and use aspects of his own in mine, some of his pictures are very linear with limited amounts of color yet remain incredibly vibrant and beautiful. He also has a lot of work that isn't linear, its very abstract in a sense and unorganized. the colors that he captures are truly beautiful and the way that he uses the light in his photos it absolutely amazing in my opinion.

Elliot Porter is someone that i really admire, I chose him as my homage because i love landscape/nature work but he does his in such a peculiar way i feel. he frames his subject matter in such a different way than most. i feel like he puts emphasis on things that most people would look right past and somehow makes it absolutely beautiful. the way he uses color in some of his images is very different that others as well. A lot seem washed out or dull but not to the extent that they are bad or boring in any way at all.

Ansel Adams is an artist that i have grown up  around, my parents always had a calendar with his work and I've always been fascinated by his work and how he frames these moments so perfectly. His photos draw your eyes throughout them so fluidly its so cool to look at all of his work and see how everything pulls together.
